Church History

By providence of God, under leadership of Bro. S.H.
Hall with strong support of R.S. King, members of
Church of Christ who are interested in this work in the
city of Nashville, TN and her vicinity decided to do
mission/evangelical work for Japanese people who are
living in Los Angeles. They chose Bro. Hirosuke Ishiguro
who was a minister of Otsuka Church of Christ in Tokyo,
Japan, now graduating from Abilene Christian College,
who was making trips to appeal the need of mission work
in Japan, to do this work. Bro. Ishiguro, S.H. Ivich, and
W.E. Miller decided to start worship services, Sunday
School, and other church activities at a temporary meeting
place at 1270 W. 35th St., Los Angeles, January 27th 1923.

Prospectus

This Church of Christ is a group who stand on principle as Thomas Campbell asserted, "We speak words the Bible speaks and keep silent where the Bible keeps silent." We depend on the New Testament totally; we follow every teaching what the New Testament requires. No creed, no dogma, but only the Bible is the basis of our faith. This is the principle of our faith.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." --Matthew 28:19, 20
